Howdy! Rex here.
While the team and I spend the next few weeks putting together the final draft of RFJ, I'd like to take a moment to formally introduce you to Steve and ZQ The Lost Tracks of Rock and Roll! Steve's a great guy who, like many of us, has a fondness for the one-and-only WZZQ, along with a deep understanding of the impact it had (and continues to have). A few months back, I became aware of his internet radio venture, which pre-dates RFJ's test transmissions by a year and a half. This link takes you to the mission statement for his station. Long story short, Steve and I have eerily similar philosophies about what radio can (and should) be. That said, with my deepest thanks to Steve, RFJ and ZQ are going to work together to serve a wide variety of listeners who crave something different. We're committed to giving local and regional musicians an outlet to share their talents. For the next few weeks, you can hear ZQ The Lost Tracks of Rock and Roll on RFJ from 4 PM to 9 PM Monday through Friday, and Sundays starting at 5:00 PM!
